Lisbon Portugal

But of course, no trip is complete without checking out the lifestyle scene...
Before we even landed in Portugal, we did a little research, and everyone seemed to agree—XCLUBE was the hottest lifestyle spot in Lisbon. So, we decided Saturday night would be the perfect time to check it out. We arrived on a Wednesday, so we had a few nights to meet up with local couples, and we thought, why not stir things up with a little speed dating on SDC? If you’re curious, you can read more about SDC on the Making Connections page. We don't want to kiss and tell, but we will say that Lisbon has some really sexy and fun couples, and we had a lot of fun on Thursday and Friday night, but enough on that, let's talk about XCLUBE....

The Premises
XClube was originally designed and established in the spirit of the glamorous clubs of the South of France, particularly Cap d’Agde. In fact, when XClube opened in 2006, the French club served as its primary benchmark in both style and operation, which explains why the club is divided into several areas, each with its own distinct characteristics and functions.
You’ll find multiple fully stocked bars and a friendly bartender ready to mix something perfectly suited to your taste.
On the dance floor, guests can also find two cages—favorites among XClube members who love striptease and playful teasing. At the center of the floor, directly in front of the DJ booth, stands a 13-foot revolving pole, a prime spot for pole dance enthusiasts, whether experts, amateurs, or simply curious souls wanting to show off their moves.
Another hallmark of XClube is its themed parties. Since the club’s opening, it has hosted countless “mega parties” that have become legendary in the swing scene.
Feeling frisky? Slip into the back rooms, where shadows blur and inhibitions fade. XClube offers an enticing maze of private hideaways and open play spaces — perfect whether you prefer an intimate escape or an audience eager to watch. Everything you might need is provided: fresh towels, flip-flops, clean sheets, and wipes — so all you have to focus on is the chemistry.
The shared showers are open to all guests, creating yet another delicious opportunity to cool off… or heat things back up.
Our Review…
XClube opens at 10, and we were determined to be there the moment the doors unlocked. We ordered an Uber and, when it dropped us off, immediately questioned our decision. There was no glowing sign. No line. No music thumping through the walls. Just a dark, industrial stretch of Lisbon that felt like the opening scene of a thriller. Even the driver hesitated, asking if we were sure. I smiled confidently and said yes — while internally running through every possible horror movie plot. Aly gave me a look that said, You’re certain about this, right? I assured her I was… mostly.
As we stood there, a car rolled in. A man stepped out and lingered beside it. I walked over and asked if he knew where the club was. With an easy smile, he pointed toward a multi-level parking garage. “Through that door. Up the stairs.” We later discovered he was one of the doormen.
We walked to the garage and found a discreet door leading to a stairwell. As we climbed to the second floor, faint music drifted through the air — distant, teasing, promising. Across the way, a single door. We had found XClube. Without directions, you’d never know it was there.
We paid the cover, stepped inside… and found ourselves completely alone.
Public Service Announcement:
If you’re not from Europe — yes, Americans, I mean you — nightlife begins when you’re usually thinking about going home. XClube is no exception. 😉
The club itself is sleek and inviting, with a generous dance floor and plenty of seating to watch the night unfold. The playrooms are dimly lit — almost deliciously so — clean, and plentiful. Some offer privacy for whispered conversations and slow exploration; others invite exhibition, where eyes linger, and desire builds under observation.
Ordering drinks required patience (the bartender didn’t speak English), but eventually we had cocktails in hand and settled in to wait for the energy to shift.
And it did.
It was an unusually hot Lisbon night, and the heat inside the club was thick — clinging to skin, making everything feel just a little more intense. XClube doesn’t have air conditioning, and while that was our only real complaint… it was a memorable one. By 11:30, couples began to trickle in. By 1:00 a.m., the atmosphere transformed completely — bodies moving closer, conversations deepening, hands beginning to wander.
The crowd skewed young — mostly 25 to 40 — with a few confident older couples who clearly knew exactly why they were there. Overall? Very attractive. We had no trouble spotting couples that caught our eye. Finding fluent English speakers took a bit more effort, but chemistry doesn’t always need translation.
The vibe leaned slightly cliquey at times — which is common in clubs like this — but if you’re comfortable making the first move, you’ll thrive. Confidence goes a long way here.
We stayed as long as we could, but eventually the heat became overwhelming. By the time we left, we were drenched — flushed, breathless, and smiling.
If you visit when there isn’t a record-breaking heatwave, we are sure the experience would be far more comfortable — and far easier to lose yourself in. XClube is absolutely worth experiencing. Just be prepared: it may take a little courage to find it… but once you do, the night has a way of pulling you in.
